ON THE NATURE OF WRITING: The discussion focused on the ways forward on WIPs and included a number of topics. There’s also an associated set of files from how to transcribe in Microsoft Word, and Janet has a task to find the list of 14 screenwriting passes and their focus elements for the group to post here as well.

The next pick for reading is THE TWELVE HUNTSMEN, also a Grimm tale
ALAS, THE NATURE OF TIME IS NOT FIXED: While Jo and Pippin seemed to have been living in a traditional time/space continuum, and Suzanne was in the same universe (where traffic troubles caused an inability to arrive at the start of the meeting), Janet apparently awoke in an alternate universe where it was bright and early on Monday morning and work responsibilities called. She continued to be so chronologically discombobulated that Sunday evening was mentally Monday evening. The week contained no Sundays and 2 Mondays. This juxtaposition of dimensions continued as she experienced no Tuesdays, 2 Wednesdays, and two Thursdays, one of which (due to dense fog), may or may not have taken place on the planet Earth. There is no telling what day she will be having next, but we can all hope she finds her way back to the true home of mankind soon.
While there are multiple recordings, there was no meeting, and we will migrate our discussion of THE TWELVE HUNTSMEN forward to the next meeting, during which Janet will hope to have regained normalcy with respect to time.
And by the way, Daylight Savings time is ending soon, so we as a group will be discombobulated again. Let’s discuss.

AND TIME PASSED: The three musketeers revisited where we’ve been over the summer, as the three of us hadn’t met in MONTHS. Janet was busily working on her Ripper novel, which we discussed, because the great conversation about mismatched relationships helped up to a point, but I was still stuck with actually having a Jack the Ripper murderer as a character, and had to WRITE the murders. It was a difficult process that I don’t plan to do again. The others have been separated for awhile because of other specifics (mostly with family things that have happened, or with life) and our general understanding is that:
LIFE HAPPENS.
Our decision moving forward was to revisit the world of Storygrid with shorter work that we could all participate with. The works moving forward will be the fairy stories of The Brothers Grimm, and stories of Hans Christian Anderson in rolling rotation. Our first pick is THE WATER OF LIFE.
April 9: A revisit of the analysis from March 26, this time focusing on a scene from the cohort members’ WIP or a scene of their choice. The intent is not to discuss the scenes in detail, but we can review content in advance and find interesting elements to discuss when together.
April 2: A continuation of the analysis from March 26. We are looking at the 5 commandments of storytelling for Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, to complete our discussion of the book for the moment
